13 July 2014 Race for Life 5k

Race for Life held in Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage.  Me and my daughter Erin had planned to do the 5k together.  Although she had not done much running recently (used to run competitively while at school) she is young and fit so we ran together and also did a bit of walking.  We raised sponsorship for this great cause and were overwhelmed by the event.

Having had cancer myself it felt good to be part of this and give something back.  We didn’t record a time, it was all about being part of something great.  The pre-run warm up was great fun.  There was so much PINK.  Many people had fancy dress on while others ran in our normal gear.  Everyone had a sticker on them to say who they were running this for.

One very emotional day.  Got a nice medal at the end which was a lovely reward.
